Matt Schnell, star of MTV’s Caged, signs with First Round Management

Miami, Fla. - Matt “Danger” Schnell, star of MTV’s popular MMA series Caged, has signed a representation agreements with top mixed martial arts (MMA) firm First Round Management, Director of Operations Ricardo Llorente announced today.

“I am looking forward to taking my MMA career to the next level, and signing with First Round Management is the first step toward that. I can assure everyone that my career will not be defined by a TV show. I plan to compete at the highest level in this sport one day,” Schnell stated. “I am training with some of the best fighters in the world, and I believe the MMA community will be pleased with the progress I am making.”

“Matt Schnell is a rising star in MMA. We are excited to represent him at First Round Management as he moves forward in his career,” Llorente added. “We would like to thank Joe Lear at MMA4MMA.com and Will Broyles from Ring Rulers for assisting with this signing.”

Schnell, just 22 years old, has posted an 11-2 amateur MMA record, a 3-0 amateur boxing record and holds a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He held numerous titles in the Flyweight division in the Ring Rulers promotion. He competes in the Bantamweight division.

The Shreveport, La. native began training in MMA right after high school and received his big break while on Caged, which has gained a large cult following on MTV from the combat sports community. Schnell currently trains at Gladiators Academy in Lafayette, La. with UFC stars Tim Credeur and Dustin Poirier.
