First Round Management signs Bubba Jenkins

Miami, Fla. - Former NCAA wrestling champion Bubba Jenkins has signed a representation agreements with top mixed martial arts (MMA) firm First Round Management, President and CEO Malki Kawa announced today.

“I am thrilled to be working with First Round Management. It is important that I am able to focus 100 percent on my goal of becoming the best fighter in the world, and making this decision which gives me security in the professional aspects of MMA will help me do that ” Jenkins stated.

“Amateur wrestling fans already know the skill level and talent that Bubba possesses, but MMA fans are going to pleasantly surprised as they watch his career unfold,” Kawa said. “Bubba has the ability to rise through the ranks very quickly in MMA, and we are very excited that First Round Management will be able to assist him with that.”

Jenkins is 3-0 in his young career as a professional Mixed Martial Arts fighter, though he has fought a total of just over five minutes, ending each of his first three bouts in the first round via submission.

As a college wrestler, the 24 year-old compiled an impressive resume. As a youth he was a five-time national champion and a 2007 Junior World Champion in freestyle. He won 89 matches total while competing at Penn State and Arizona State, two of the top wrestling programs in the NCAA. In 2008, he was the NCAA’s runner-up at 149 lbs. while at Penn State, and in 2011, won the 157-lbs. national title for Arizona State.

Jenkins currently trains at American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Fla. and is originally from Virginia Beach, Va.
